Number 1 seed Andy Murray (GBR) was knocked out by the big serving 24th seed Sam Querrey (USA). Murray came into the tournament with a niggling hip injury and it became a full blown issue in the quarter final. After a shaky start from the American, Murray took the first set 6-3, but Querrey played an excellent second set to make it level 6-4. The 7th Day at Wimbledon 2017 Gentlemen’s Draw

Number 1 seed and two time Wimbledon Champion Andy Murray (GBR) has made it to the quarter finals an impressive 9 times. Today he made it 10 beating Benoit Paire (FRA) who was into the fourth round of Wimbledon for the first time. After a tight first set featuring 4 breaks of serve, the Frenchman forced a tie break with the world number 1, but played a howler of a tie break getting just one point. The 5th Day at Wimbledon 2017 Gentlemen’s Singles Draw

Number 1 seed Andy Murray (GBR) faced 28th seed Fabio Fognini (ITA), both of whom are known to have the occasional outburst on court. Murray raced to a 1 set lead 6-2 only for the momentum to swing the Italian’s way in the second, taking it 6-4. The 3rd Day at Wimbledon Gentlemen’s Singles Draw

In the day’s controversial match, Next Gen star Daniil Medvedev (RUS) who knocked out 5th seed Wawrinka in the first round, lost his cool in a tense 5 set contest on the non-Hawk-Eye outer courts. His opponent, world number 124 Ruben Bemelmans (BEL), was the benefactor of 5 chair umpire overrules in quick succession, leaving Medvedev questioning the integrity of the chair and calling for her replacement.
