Novak Djokovic ended speculation about his 2017 schedule at a press conference in Belgrade today. The world number 4 says he will miss the rest of the season, including the ATP World Tour Finals at the O2 Arena in London in November, due to the right elbow injury that forced him to retire from Wimbledon.
After consulting specialists from all over the world, it was decided that the best course of treatment was rest, and though Djokovic was disappointed, he was grateful that he’d been relatively injury free for so many years.
He aims to return before the Australian Open 2018 for a warm up tournament, taking the next five months to recover, work on his game, and get ready for the new addition to the Djokovic household.
